Mercury Retrograde… Grab Your Umbrella — Astrology, Intuition & Learning Your Own Blueprint
Episode 5 of Wellness Me Up with Astrologer & Coach Marie-Noëlle "Coach MNM" Meehan
Okay so real talk. I used to be one of those people who would hear "Mercury retrograde" and roll my eyes a little bit. Like... okay cool, the planet is doing a thing, what does that have to do with why my plans keep falling apart?
And then Marie-Noëlle sat down with me and explained it like a weather forecast and now I genuinely cannot unknow this information. Like where has this been my whole life?
This one is cozy, cosmic, and way more practical than you'd expect. Pull up a chair.

Astrology Is Just a Weather Report. Hear Me Out.
Marie-Noëlle's whole mission is to simplify astrology. To take something that can feel really intimidating and woo-woo and make it actually useful in your everyday life.
Here's the basics. Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky the exact moment you were born. That's your blueprint. Your map. As the planets keep moving they interact with that blueprint in ways that can genuinely help explain why certain seasons of your life feel harder or more electric or more chaotic than others.
And Mercury retrograde? The one everyone's heard of but nobody fully understands?
It's when you can expect the unexpected. Plans fall through. Technology acts up. Communication gets weird. Things feel like they're going sideways for no apparent reason.
But here's what Marie-Noëlle says... if you know it's coming, you can prepare for it. Just like knowing it's going to rain means you grab your umbrella before you walk out the door. You're not going to melt. You're just going to be ready.
During Mercury retrograde lean into anything that starts with re. Revisit. Reevaluate. Reorganize. Relax. It's not a time to launch something new or sign a big contract or make a major decision. It's a time to clean up, clear out, and catch up on everything you've been meaning to get back to.
Knowledge is protection. Simple as that.
Intuition Isn't Woo. It's a Muscle.
This is the part of the conversation that really got me.
We all have intuition. It's not some mystical gift that only certain people were born with. It's a birthright. But somewhere along the way a lot of us stopped trusting it... or were told it wasn't real... or just got so busy living in our heads that we lost the signal entirely.
Marie-Noëlle helps people find it again. And more than that she helps them figure out how their intuition specifically shows up — because it's different for everyone. Once you know your type and you start working it like a muscle? Life starts to feel less like you're forcing everything uphill and more like you're actually flowing with it.
Less fixing. More allowing. Less white-knuckling. More trusting.
And the more you trust it the more things just... align. She said that and I felt it in my whole body.
Transformation Doesn't Have to Be Dramatic
Can we just sit with this one for a second because I think it's one of the most important things said on this podcast so far.
So much of wellness culture makes healing feel like it has to be this massive explosive life-shattering event. Like if you're not completely falling apart and rebuilding from scratch then you're not doing it right.
Marie-Noëlle's approach is the complete opposite of that. Her process is three steps. Name it. Feel it. Shift it.
That's it. You don't need a complete 180. You don't need to blow your whole life up. Sometimes you just need to name what's actually happening, let yourself feel it instead of running from it, and then gently move through it.
Crying it out counts. Sitting quietly with something uncomfortable counts. Being at peace with where you are right now counts.
The pressure to make healing dramatic is its own kind of obstacle. And honestly? It's exhausting.
The WTF Wheel Question: What's the Weirdest Thing That's Ever Made You Cry?
This one went absolutely everywhere and I loved every second of it.
Amanda shared that she once completely lost it on a walking path in her own neighborhood. One that had been there for ten years. That she never knew existed. Just pure happy tears standing there like... this has been here this whole time and I'm only just finding it now.
Other people might have walked past and been like... why is that woman crying on a path? And the answer is just... because it was beautiful and it was right there all along and sometimes that's enough.
Marie-Noëlle went straight to childbirth. Weird, primal, completely overwhelming... and when you think about it, when else do you experience pain and terror and joy and awe all in the exact same moment? It's genuinely one of the strangest and most profound things a human body can go through.
The takeaway? There are so many different kinds of crying. Happy tears. Release tears. Holy-shit-this-path-has-been-here-for-ten-years tears. They're all valid. None of them are weird.
Moon Meetings and Planting Intentional Seeds
Marie-Noëlle also runs Moon Meetings — a group community space built around the new moon and full moon cycles. And the way she explains it is so simple and so beautiful.
The new moon is planting season. That's when you set your intention. Put the seed in the ground. Six months later when the full moon comes around in the same sign... that's harvest time. You look back. What grew? What needs more sunlight? What do you need to finally let go of?
Add in a birth chart breakdown, a short yoga practice to embody the energy of the season, and a journaling session to turn your intention into something real and actually actionable... and you've got a genuinely powerful practice for moving through life with more clarity and way less chaos.
And here's the thing. Marie-Noëlle had been doing this practice completely alone for years before it hit her that maybe she shouldn't be doing it solo anymore.
She trusted her intuition. Started the Moon Meetings. Obviously.
What Wellness Me Up Means to Marie-Noëlle
Remembering who you are. Coming home to yourself from the inside out instead of searching for answers everywhere else.
She had this sticker on her car years ago that said you are unique like everyone else. And I kind of love that. Because we are all out here with our own flavor, our own blueprint, our own weird beautiful specific way of moving through the world.
The answers you've been looking for? Already in there. You just need a little help remembering how to hear them.
