Who Is Dr. Sun Pandé?
Dr. Sun Pandé is a metaphysical parapsychologist, author of over 120 books and courses, app creator, therapist, philanthropist, reigning Ms. Doctorate New Mexico, and founder of BITCH — the Bliss Institute and Transdimensional Consciousness Hermitage.
She is a 9/11 survivor. A three-time cancer survivor. A stage four survivor. She was bedridden for two and a half years after having four of her six abdominal muscles removed. She has had four knee surgeries. She broke her sternum in a car accident and spent three and a half months sitting upright in a chair unable to lie down.
She is also joyful. Genuinely, consistently, radiantly joyful.
And that is not a coincidence. That is the result of decades of doing the work she now teaches to everyone else.
Mind, Body, and Soul. Not Two Out of Three.
This was the first thing Dr. Sun Pandé said that made my brain light up and it set the tone for the entire conversation.
She talked about how thirty-five years ago our culture cracked open to the idea of mind-body medicine. That was huge. That changed everything. But she has always felt it was incomplete.
You need the soul component too. Mind, body, and soul — inseparable. Because from a higher level, beyond even this lifetime, there are things that interplay. There are reasons why we are here and why we go through what we go through. And until we include that third piece the picture is never quite whole.
She calls her approach to trauma therapy Couple OT — a Tamil word meaning adjust your sails. Because life is not a straight path where if you just do everything right everything goes smoothly. Life is a series of waves. Some of them knock you down. And the work is learning how to read which waves are coming, adjust accordingly, and chart a course toward the bliss lane anyway.
She Said Hold My Beer. Before She Was Even Born.
This is the section where I need you to stay with me because Dr. Sun Pandé goes somewhere that is genuinely unlike anything I've heard on this podcast.
She discovered interlife theory through Dr. Michael Newton — a researcher who in the fifties and sixties began regressing people not just into past lives but into the space between lives. What happens after we die and before we incarnate again. He documented thousands of case studies and published them in books like Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls.
Dr. Sun Pandé was given these books by an oncology counselor during her second cancer diagnosis. And they changed everything.
Because if you want to create a resilient soldier you put them through the hardest boot camp imaginable. You don't send them to day camp. You tear them down so they can be built back stronger.
So when she looks at everything she has survived — being held at gunpoint at four years old, child sexual abuse, date rape, tumors in college, 9/11, three cancers, a daughter born with autism, raising that daughter alone while battling cancer multiple times — she doesn't see a life defined by suffering.
She sees a soul that said... hold my beer. Before she even got here. A soul that designed the most challenging boot camp possible because it knew what it was here to become.
That reframe. My god.
Contempt Prior to Investigation
This is her phrase for one of the most common things that gets in the way of healing.
She used her own story as the example. After years of chronic illness and surgeries she was introduced to a particular meditation practice. But it required a physical position she literally could not do — putting her heel in her perineum. Four knee surgeries. That's not happening.
She was told... just visualize it. Don't do it. Just close your eyes and picture yourself in the position.
Her reaction was exactly what most of us would feel. Are you serious? You're not giving me my body back. You're telling me to visualize?
But she had a rule she had learned a long time ago. Don't engage in contempt prior to investigation. Don't tell something doesn't work before you've actually tried it properly. So she committed. Ninety days of daily visualization. With the full intention of proving them wrong.
One day she was sitting outside with her eyes closed doing the visualization when a friend walked up and asked what she was doing.
I'm visualizing my foot in my ass, she said.
And when she went to demonstrate how she couldn't do the position... her heel went right into her perineum.
Just like that.
And then she dove into the neuroscience and discovered why. The brain doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's vividly imagined with consistency. It only knows what you tell it repeatedly. So if you consistently tell it you can do something... it starts building the pathways to make it true.
This is also how she danced with her daughter on the beach in Florida after being bedridden for two and a half years and told she would likely never walk without assistance again. She visualized that dance every single day from her mother's bed. And then one day she did it.
I've done this too. I visualized being in a hot air balloon over and over again from my couch when I could barely walk more than five minutes without excruciating lower back pain. I visualized my uterus out and a life of movement long before any doctor would listen. I had been begging for a hysterectomy for years — knowing intuitively it was the source of everything — and it took cervical cancer to finally get that eviction notice served. I even found myself wanting the cancer to spread just enough to force their hand. How backwards is that? And yet. It worked. The body knew. The visualization knew. Reality just needed time to catch up.
And this is exactly where the fifth dimension piece Dr. Sun Pandé talked about landed so hard for me. She said every single possible version of us already exists in the fifth dimension. The version that is healed. The version that is moving. The version that is living the life we can barely let ourselves imagine. It already exists. The work is identifying with that version and holding that identification without looking for immediate proof in the third dimension that it's working.
That version of me — up in that balloon, moving freely, living this life — she already existed somewhere. I just had to keep identifying with her until reality caught up.
And so much of everything else Dr. Sun Pandé said made sense to me too. Why I went through everything with my enmeshed family. Why I found myself in my own diseased states and became a product of that environment just as much as anyone else in it. The boot camp analogy landed somewhere really deep. Because if I hadn't gone through all of it I wouldn't be here. Writing this. As a digital nomad with no fixed home travelling the world. Living the life the girl on the couch could only dream about.
Contempt prior to investigation. Don't knock it till you've actually given it a real shot.
The Fifth Dimension and Your Optimal Self
Dr. Sun Pandé talks about dimensions of reality in a way that makes the whole thing click.
In the fifth dimension every single possible version of you already exists. The version that is healthy. The version that is thriving. The version that has the relationship or the career or the body or the life you want. It already exists.
The work is identifying with that optimal version and holding that identification consistently — without checking back in the third dimension for immediate proof that it's working. Because you won't find proof yet. And looking for it actually breaks the connection.
It's like planting a tree and digging it up every three days to see if the roots have grown.
She also talked about Hawkins' Map of Consciousness — a scale of vibrational states from zero to one thousand where you want to be above a certain threshold. And the fastest way to drop your vibration is to consistently dwell in the story of why me, why always this, life is unfair.
Vent it. Let it go. Have gratitude. Lift the moment. And then stay up here.
That's the practice. That's what she does. Every time.
Twenty-Five States of Consciousness. And They're All Free.
Ancient Indian texts — the Upanishads and Vedas — describe twenty-five different states of consciousness that humans can travel through. Not just waking, sleeping, and dreaming. Twenty-five.
Dr. Sun Pandé learned to move through these states when she was sitting upright in a chair for three and a half months after breaking her sternum — unable to lie down, in pain every time she breathed or coughed or laughed. And she used those other states of consciousness to escape the pain of this one. Not through opiates, which she has also been through and fully understands the pull of. But through consciousness itself.
She has built all twenty-five levels into her app Life in the Bliss Lane. And access to them is free. She just wants people to have the information.
I am going in immediately.
The WTF Wheel Question: What's Your Healing Era Outfit Right Now?
A flowing kimono made from Indian textiles. Lots of beads. Bright colours. And a cowboy hat — pink or brown — because she is the reigning Ms. Doctorate New Mexico and she represents. We also decided after we stopped recording that there really should be a cowboy hat with a tiara on it. Someone make that happen.
Oh and boots. Because tarantulas and scorpions are a thing where she lives in New Mexico. Remind me not to spend too much time there when I eventually make my way through. 😄
She described herself as a queer cowgirl and I have never heard a more perfect self-description in my life.
She also mentioned that everything she wears is functional — crystals, jewellery made by local New Mexico artists — all chosen for their metaphysical effect on the body. Her healing era outfit is not just aesthetic. It is intentional.
If not now, when? Wear the thing. Express yourself. That IS the wellness.
What Wellness Me Up Means to Dr. Sun Pandé
Upliftment. The person who reaches out their hand and lifts you up when you're down.
And for her that's what BITCH is doing — lifting the most marginalized community by reminding them that queer identity is not new. It is ancient. It is carved into temples thousands of years old across India. It is written about in ancient texts. It has always been part of nature.
Decolonizing that history. Creating belonging. Reaching out the hand.
That's Wellness Me Up.
About BITCH
Yes. BITCH.
The Bliss Institute and Transdimensional Consciousness Hermitage.
All of Dr. Sun Pandé's books, courses, and app offerings go to fund this nonprofit — a queer temple creating awareness and belonging by reconnecting the Lishabetikwa community (her term that honestly sounds so much better than LGBTQ) to their ancient roots in Hindu and Indian culture.
It is one of the most extraordinary things I have heard about on this podcast. And I wanted to make sure it didn't get lost at the bottom of a blog post.
